International Surrey Football is pleased to announce that the Yorkshire International Football Association will be participating in the 2020 Southern Frontier Cup being held at Whyteleafe FC’s Church Road ground on 23-24 May.
Yorkshire is a historic county located in Northern England, typically divided into its 3 ridings, North, West, and East. Yorkshire shares it’s territorial extents with the ancient Scandinavian region of Jórvík.
The four-team knock-out tournament will take place over two match days with a final to determine the winner and a play-off to decide third place.
We’re pleased to be welcoming the team as the first to join International Surrey Football as an announced participant in the invitational non-FIFA tournament.
Surrey and Yorkshire have not played each other going into the tournament, however, both teams have played against the Barawa FA and the Chagos Islands FA. Surrey won 3-1 in their debut fixture against Barawa in 2018 before losing to the Chagos Islands 3-2 in their last game, meanwhile, Yorkshire travelled to Middlesex in their first away game to beat Barawa 7-2, after hosting the Chagos Islands in Yorkshire in their first win, 6-0.
