International Surrey Football is pleased to announce that Whyteleafe Football Club will host all 4 games of the 2020 Southern Frontier Cup. The inaugural competition will take place at the East Surrey venue on 23rd and 24th May 2020, with 2 fixtures played each day.
The established Isthmian League South East Division club has previously hosted a friendly between Cascadia and the Chagos Islands earlier this year. This will be the first edition of the new Southern Frontier Cup, a non-FIFA tournament hosted by International Surrey Football involving 3 invited teams.
The competition will have the format of a regular knockout competition. The winners of each of the 2 semi-final matches on the first day compete against each other for the Southern Frontier Cup, while the 2 losing sides play in a third-place match.
The competition will be contested over 2 days, with each day seeing 2 matches played back-to-back. Games will be played to 90 minutes if the teams are tied after this time then a penalty shootout will immediately follow.
The semi-final fixtures will be played on 23rd May 2020, while the third-place match, followed by the final will be played on 24th May 2020.
Further details for the 2020 Southern Frontier Cup will be announced over the course of November.
